THE NEW [ Choose one: Dem/Rep/Other ] PARTY PLATFORM
for 2026 and Yearly Thereafter, As Long As Needed. The Time Has Come.
TO FIX WHAT’S WRONG
- PUBLIC FUNDING FOR ALL FEDERAL ELECTIONS. A new federal law will specify a limited campaigning budget of public tax dollars to be paid to every qualifying candidate for any federal office, and shall outlaw other campaign donations of every nature under severe penalty of law.
- MANDATED REGISTRATION AND VOTING. A new federal law will require every U.S. citizen to register and vote in every federal election. Using the military Selective Service System as a model, fines shall be levied for unexcused failure to vote in any federal election.
- CANDIDATE VALUES AND QUALIFICATIONS. New federal laws will require every candidate for any federal office to complete and release to all news media a formatted questionnaire designed to inform the public of 1) that candidate’s qualifications to serve in the office sought, 2) the extent to which the candidate’s values correlate with environmental values essential to contain and reverse global warming’s existential threat, and 3) those other values which always made the United States a shining beacon of hope and justice to peoples around the world.
- HONESTY AND INTEGRITY. Severe penalties shall be levied against any federal public office holder, or any news medium, found in a court of law to have lied or knowingly misled the public.
- MAINTENANCE OF DEMOCRACY. For all the above, no state may receive any federal grant or federal funding until it has enacted equivalent laws applicable to all state and local elections.
TO PREVENT IT EVER HAPPENING AGAIN
- PURPOSES AND VALUES OF GOVERNMENT. The purposes government exists to serve, and the democratic values which have always made the United States a shining beacon of hope and justice to peoples around the world, shall be taught in all twelve grades of all public schools.
- LIVING WAGE AND ECONOMIC RIGHTS. New federal laws shall mandate employers to pay a Living Wage sufficient to purchase the eight Economic Rights guaranteed to every citizen: Food, Clothing and Shelter; Health care, Transportation and Insurance required by law; Adequacy in Retirement; and a Life Investment Fund for young adults after three years public service.
- LIMITS ON CORPORATIONS. To ensure that prices are affordably restrained by genuine competition, any corporation that grows to exceed 5% of the U.S. market for whatever it sells shall be subdivided into new entities each commanding less than 5% of the U.S. marketplace.
- COOPERATIVE-COMPETITIVE CHOICE. Each new entity formed under the 5% Rule shall vote its decision on whether to proceed as 1) an employee-owned co-op serving the public common good or 2) an unregulated small entrepreneurial enterprise pursuing market capitalism profit.
- CONTROL OF MONOPOLIES. All natural monopolies (fixed infrastructure such as pipelines, energy distribution, railroads) shall be placed under lawfully specified stringent control of a government—federal, state or local as applicable in each case. No other monopolies shall exist.
